We found there are NO usage restrictions for .GOLD domains. They are freely obtained on a first come first serve basis and can be used anytime by anyone for any activity.

ICANN and the world's largest domain registrars, GODADDY and NAMECHEAP, all indicate that anyone can freely secure and use .GOLD TLDs.

ICANN : ".GOLD is an active TLD in ICANN's New gTLD Program. The proposed application succeeded and was delegated to the Root Zone on 24 March, 2015 and is managed by Donuts (June Edge, LLC).The TLD reached General Availability July 08, 2015."'
